Literati gardens and its philosophic content

Literati garden was a kind of Chinese classical garden type which was planned, designed, enjoyed and used by intellectuals. In its long developing process, the literati garden reflected the characteristics of its owner, the intellectual stratum, embodied the close relations between the intellectual stratum and the Chinese classical cultural system which main ideas were Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism, manifested a heaven-and-man mixture, a turning towards philosophic thought. The literati garden is a special garden type in the world's garden developing history, it gives us some enlightenment for our architectural theory research and architectural design.
