摘要
The objective of this paper is to analyze different demographical attributes of twitter users who participated immediately after the 2017 Iran-Iraq earthquake. The attributes describe the user's location, language, age and gender. More than several thousand tweets were collected in the first few days and at different time periods. A study was made of the location distribution and the type of mobile devices used. Since the tweets are posted from all over the world a thorough analysis is needed to study tweet activities in different time zones. Most of the tweets from developed countries are from iPhones in preference to Android devices. For developing countries, more tweets came from Android devices rather than from iPhones. The outcome of this study shows an overwhelming tweeting activity from developed countries and in particular English language native countries. Other countries, who use English as a secondary language, had varying volumes of tweets.
