Effect of the foot-and-mouth disease vaccination on the semen quality of buffalo bulls

摘要：
The present study was undertaken to observe the effect of FMD vaccination on the various seminal attributes of buffalo bulls. The seminal attributes were studied by observing the spermiogram such as concentration, motility, live sperm count and sperm morphology. The biochemical parameters, viz. methylene blue reduction test and hypo-osmotic swelling tests were also studied. FMD vaccination produces adverse effects on the semen quality of buffalo bulls and the effect was observed up to 1 month after vaccination. So to avoid the failure of conception the semen collection should be suspended for 1 month after FMD vaccination.
