Delayed delivery interval between twins: a viable option? A case report

In summary, prolongation of pregnancy after preterm delivery of the first twin in a multiple gestation is feasible in a closely monitored environment, if the membranes of the second twin remain intact and there is no evidence of ongoing labour, infection, coagulopathy, placental abruption or fetal distress. Although we gather more information in this important area, case reports of the success or failure of this approach allow accumulation of valid information for discussion. © 2005 The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
