Polypyrrole-Single Walled Carbon Nanotube (PPY-SWCNT) composite havebeen synthesized by a simple in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization method with enhanced thermoelectric properties compared to pure PPY. XRD and FESEM analyses reveal that during polymerization, PPY grew along the surface of the SWCNTs to form a more ordered molecular structure with increased crystallinity. The thermoelectric properties of PPY and PPY-SWCNT composite were examined in the temperature range of 298-408 K. The thermal conductivity of the composite shows no significant change compared to pure PPY. As a result, the thermoelectric figure of merit ZT (0.0021) increases with the incorporation of SWCNT in the composite which is about 55 times higher than pure PPY(0.00004). (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd.
