Separation and determination of beryllium (II), chromium (III), copper (II), iron (II) and nickel (II) with two colour reagents of chromotrope 2C and TAN by RP-HPLC

摘要
A RP-HPLC method for the separation and determination of beryllium (II), chromium (III) copper(II), iron(II) and nickel(II) with chromotrope 2C and TAN chelates on a YWG-ODS column by using methanol-ethanol-water (volume ratio is 35 : 5 : 60) containing 5 x 10(-5) mol/L chromotrope 2C, 5x10(-5) mol/L TAN and acetate buffer solution (pH = 5.0) as mobile phase and with spectrophotometric detection at 580 nm was developed. The method has a high sensitivity. The detection limits were 0.5 mug/mL for beryllium (II), 1.0 mug/mL for chromium(II), 1.0 mug/mL for copper(II), 2.0 mug/mL for iron(II) and 0.4 mug/mL for nickel(II). Under the optimum conditions most other metal ions do not interfere. The method can be applied to the simultaneous determination of trace amounts of beryllium, chromium, copper, iron and nickel in rice and flour samples.
