Interpretation of data of cloud remote sensing from space in the visible range of the spectrum

摘要
A procedure of searching the characteristic images of clouds of different types based on a comparison of data archive of meteorological stations with MODIS satellite images is presented. 14 cloud types that have unique texture of MODIS images recorded with 250 m resolution in the visible spectral range are identified. The texture approach to determination of image characteristics of cloudy cover based on satellite information is stated. A procedure of forming a system of informative texture parameters is described. Results of analysis of cloudiness types from satellite images that confirm the uniqueness of their textures are presented and discussed.
