Neck Neoplastic Conditions in the Emergency Setting: Role of Multidetector Computed Tomography

Emergent conditions resulting from head and neck neoplasms and their treatment include acute airway obstruction, hemorrhage, spinal cord compression, bilateral vocal cord paralysis, and septic thrombophlebitis. These conditions require accurate diagnosis and rapid intervention to avoid severe permanent damage or death. Successful treatment requires a coordinated response by emergency medicine physicians, otolaryngologists, vascular surgeons, and radiologists.
