Effect of compatibility of components on the formation of the mesophase of cyclolinear polyorganosiloxanes in the blends with poly(dimethylsiloxane) and by the INTAS Foundation (project 93-0753-ext)
The temperature transitions in the blends of cyclolinear polyorganosiloxanes of various structures and poly(dimethylsiloxane)s with various molecular masses were studied by DSC and optical polarizing microscopy. It was established that the type of cyclolinear polyorganosiloxane and the length of poly(dimethylsiloxane) chain affect the compatibility of the components in the blends. The formation of the mesophase in cyclolinear polyorganosiloxane depends on the molecular mass and the content of poly(dimethylsiloxane) in the blend. The phase state of the studied blends at room temperature is described.
