PROBLEMS REGARDING INTERMODAL TRANSPORT IN THE DANUBE REGION

With the efficient use of intermodal transport for solving the issue of sustainable development and environmental protection, one of the main goals of the international community has been realized, and therefore, it is an important factor in the economy functioning. Apart from these areas, the problems of intermodal transport also reflect on the problems of functioning and connecting globally and locally, and it is important to study, treat and solve them. By reviewing and analyzing national strategic documents, the key problems of intermodal transport in the Danube Region were identified. The areas that needed greater attention were identified, the biggest problems of a different nature (financial and non-financial) were highlighted, as well as those that were not recognized By analyzing the identified problems, the space for more effective and efficient definition of priorities and measures for solving the shortcomings in the system is opened for the purpose of overall economic development.
