摘要：

The unique structural characters and properties of bolaform surfactants are systematicaly introduced, and their self-assembled supermolecular aggregates such as the monolayer at the air/water interface and the vesicles in solutions are outlined. With a detailed summary of the processes and procedures for the synthesis of bolaform surfactants, the applications of the bolaform surfactants in nanomaterials, slow delivery of drug, biomineralization, photochemistry modification, gene delivery and gelation reagents etc. are discussed. Finally, the potential development of the research on bolaform surfactants is prospected.
