The Analysis of Urban-Rural Income Gap in China

Firstly, choosing per capita income, per capita consume and Engel's Coefficient as indexes, this article empirically proved that the gap of income distribution between rural and urban residents in China is expending increasingly. The biased industry policy, behind-lagging urbanization, price and producing of agricultural products are the main causes for the expanding gap of income distribution. Lastly, the following countermeasures are put forward: promote the integration of rural and urban industries by canceling the residence system, realize the management scale by perfecting the rural land system, continuously complete the protecting policy system for agriculture, and establish the social security system covering the rural residents.
