摘要
This paper adopts critical discourse analysis (CDA) as the theoretical framework to analyze two sample texts from a secondary school English textbook Go For It. The results of the analysis indicate that the secondary school English textbooks in China are not neutral in terms of culture and ideology. The virtues and values of dominant groups and authority are laden in the texts throughout the story, grammar and lexical choices.
