3-D numerical simulation of jet formation process of armor-piercing warhead with shaped charge

摘要
Based on the nonlinear dynamic finite element program LS-DYNA3D, the process of the jet formation of the metal liner,of an armor-piercing warhead is simulated. The deformation figure of the metal liner and the initial velocity of the jet tip are also obtained. Compared with the experimental results, the numerical simulation results are tally with the mechanism and law of the jet formation, and consistent with the theoretical analysis as well as, the results reported in relative literatures. So both the correctnesses of the calculation model and method are proved. The simulation results and method can not only give some directions to the design of the armor-piercing warhead, but also provide guidance to the structural design and parameter optimization of similar warhead in the engineering application.
