摘要
The recent increase of the performance of high power InGaAs laser diodes have brought substantial interest for Yb3+-doped solid state lasers. Recently we have developed the growth of Yb-doped oxoborates RECOB (Ca4R-EO(BO3)(3) RE = Y, Gd) [1]. These crystals have shown to be very efficient for both tunable [2] and femtosecond [3] lasers. However other borate materials present also some outstanding proper-ties [4]. We are presenting here the laser properties of the Yb:Sr-3(BO3)(3) (Yb:BOYS) crystal under diode-pumping.
