摘要
The effect of salting out and salting in on the solubility, Henry constant, and infinite dilution activity coefficient of benzene in water was reviewed, and the consistency between the data sets was evaluated. Salting out and salting in by NaCl as well as other electrolytes was tested. The formalism of Weisenberger and Schumpe is used to relate salting out of benzene to salting out of oxygen. Reasonable agreement is found, except for salting out of benzene by Na2SO4, where stronger salting out is found in literature experimental data than expected from predictions.
