摘要：

The study titled "Free zones in Romania - the need for high-performance strategic management" is highly relevant and topical considering that the free economic zones in Romania (Constanta Sud-Agigea, Galati, Braila, Sulina, Giurgiu and Arad-Curtici) started to operate in a liberal market economy context only after 1990, in a context of constantly evolving legislation. The actions of government decision makers have led to the emergence and expansion of Romanian free zones, in line with the global advance of this economic innovation, which can provide significant monetary gains, lead to higher employment rates locally and nationally and attract direct foreign investment.
