More than 6% elastic strain realized in a bulk single crystal of an Fe3Pt alloy

摘要
In this paper, we demonstrate that a considerably large elastic strain (more than 6%) can be realized in a single crystal of a nearly ordered Fe3Pt alloy. This alloy exhibits a second-order-like martensitic transformation, and the large elastic strain is caused by continuous and reversible structural changes under stress. (C) 2013 Acta Materialia Inc.
