A new C-alpha hydroxy benzylisoquinoline, annocherine C (1), along with nineteen compounds including six alkaloids, liriodenine (2), oxoxylopine (3), oxonantenine (4), (-)-asimilobine (5), (-)-xylopine (6) and (-)-anolobine (7); four steroids, beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol, beta-sitosteryl-D-glucoside and stigmasteryl-D-glucoside and nine benzenoids, methylparabene, vanillin, trans-methyl p-coumarate, cis-methyl p-coumarate, p-hydroxybenzadehyde, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, 4-methoxybenzoic acid methyl ester, methyl vanillate and p-dihydrocoumaric acid, were isolated from the leaves of Annona cherimola. These compounds were identified by spectral analysis.
