摘要
Mesoporous materials (Pore dia 2 -50nm) attracting much researchers interest because they have interesting properties. In this paper mesoporous silica with high surface area is synthesized under acidic condition. Soft templating approach is used to synthesize mesoporous materials using P123 as soft template materials. The effect of heating rate of calcination temperature on the surface area was studied by N2 adsorption - desorption measurement and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). SEM image of silica materials shows the worm like morphology and N2 adsorption and desorption graph shows high surface area materials adsorb more N2 compare to low surface area materials at same pressure. The pore volume, surface area (BET) and pore diameter (BJH) are determined by ASIQ gas sorption analyzer and found pore dia within the range of 2 to 10 nm, this means high surface area mesoporous silica materials have been synthesized successfully.
