The objective of this research is to study the subjectivity of reading and its relation with the construction of meanings. It tries to present the approaches, theories and results of the most current studies on the subject. The methodology used is a systematic review, carried out through studies in indexed journals such as: Dialnet, Doaj and Redib. The articles, searched by keywords, were selected by reading the abstracts and subjected to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, where 28 of them made up the unit of analysis. Regarding the results, few studies reported the basic theory, about reading subjectivity, which was more evident in literary texts. Studies that focus on reading comprehension do not include the subjectivity nomenclature, but rather the construction of meanings based on the reader's social experiences. This review evidenced the lack of studies on the subjective contribution of reading in general.
