摘要
Ozone is a substance that touches on our modem society in many ways. Ozone is used in industrial processes and as a disinfectant. Ozone is a strong oxidizing agent that is present in photochemical smog. Ozone in the stratosphere screens the surface of the earth from biologically damaging ultraviolet radiation. All of these uses emerge from our basic understanding of ozone that began with the recognition by Schonbein in 1840 that ozone was a unique substance produced in a variety of processes.
