摘要
State-of-the-art metal-polymer substrates are sensitive to changes induced by the acetic-acetate acid, representative of foods. Therefore, this study evaluates the influence of the microstructural characteristics of ECCS plates and PET coatings on the quality of food containers. In this regard, an analysis of the texture of materials, surface defects, flaws induced during the manufacturing process, corrosion mechanisms Leading to food-container degradation, and structural changes of the PET coating influencing the adherence of the protective layer is performed. The methods employed are valid procedures to prevent the physicochemical reactions of canning materials with aggressive media that may alter the original features of foods.
