摘要
Both empirical research findings and listening teachers' narratives show that most Chinese EFL learners are poorly aware of the cognitive and psychological aspects of listening in English. Rather, they usually pay far greater attention to such aspects as pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, etc. in listening class. That might being part of whole picture concerning EFL listening in China, the authors will in this paper, discuss the application of information-processing theory (IPT), schema theory in particular into listening comprehension course, hoping to remove barriers in the listening procedure to achieve better progress for Chinese college students in listening ability.
