Unsaturated esters of cyclodextrin - Synthesis and characterization

The paper discusses the results obtained in the Study of the P-cyclodextrin esterification reaction with the reactive derivatives of some insaturated organic acids (acryloyle chloride, maleic anhydride), performed under various conditions. It was observed that esterification occurred not only in the primary, but equally in the secondary hydroxylic groups. The esterification degree increases by the utilization of an acid derivative in excess, by increasing the reaction duration, and in a homogeneous medium, ail effect put into evidence by spectral analysis or the reaction products (ATR/FTIR, H-1 RMN, Maldi-Tof Mass Spectroscopy). The reaction cannot be conducted to permit the obtaining of some unique products, but of some mixtures of compounds with different esterification degree.
