Fluorenone-containing poly(p-phenyleneethynylene)s (PPE) and poly(fluorenyleneethynylene)s (PFE):: Tuning the solid-state emission of alkyne-bridged polymers by interchain energy transfer

摘要：

The feasibility of covalent doping of PPE and PFE with fluorenone utilizing alkyne methathesis was shown. While doping levels of 2-10% showed no effect on solution emission, they are insufficient to ensure complete energy transfer into the dopant sites and lead to efficient orange solid-state emission of these interesting conjugated polymers. Intra- and inter-chain energy transfer caused such a behavior.
