摘要：
The relationship between economic growth and environmental protection has received a considerable amount of empirical and theoretical attention. The environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis explains the phenomenon that environmental quality deteriorates at the early stages of economic development and subsequently improves at the later stages. This paper reviews some theoretical developments and empirical studies dealing with EKC phenomenon, provides an overview of the EKC literature, background history, conceptual insights and relative policy. At last, economic development model of China is discussed.
