On the simulation modelling of control activities in manufacturing systems

Decisions taken in real time (control decisions) have often to be modelled with enough details when ope wants to simulate a manufacturing system. Unfortunately, these decisions may be complex and difficult to analysis, to formulate, to represent and to model using the conceptual framework provided by current simulation tools. To tackle these difficulties, we propose a way to formalise them. Then, some modelling issues are discussed and several possible approaches to model real time decision activities are reviewed, in view of their simulation.
