摘要
A new method to control the motion of nanotube-based nanoelectromechanical systems is proposed. Namely, the chemical adsorption of atoms and molecules on the open edges of the single-walled carbon nanotube leads to the appearance of electric dipole moment. In this case the nanotube can be actuated by a nonuniform electric field. Electric dipole moments of the carbon nanotubes with functionalized edges are calculated. Possibility of the method proposed is shown on example of the gigahertz oscillator. The parameters of the system and control force which allow obtaining the stationary operation with constant frequency are determined.
