摘要
Amphiphilic gradient copolymers vary their monomer composition from hydrophilic units to hydrophobic units gradually along molecular chains. Amphiphilic gradient copolymers can self-assemble to form aggregates in solution. Interstingly, the gradient nature endows their aggregates some different stimuli-responsive factors from block copolymer aggregates, such as inherent thermosensitivity and more sensitive stimuli-responsiveness. Amphiphilic gradient copolymers have been considered as not only an underutilized resource, but also a new functional material of high potential in various fields. The purpose of this review is to take a closer look at synthetic procedures, self-assembly properties and applications of amphiphilic gradient copolymers. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
