Two types of fractal dimensions for phase separation in multicomponent polymer membranes

摘要
The dispersibility and shape of the phase separation in multicomponent polymer membranes were quantified using the concepts of fractal geometry. Two types of fractal dimensions in polymer blend and graft copolymer membranes, the fractal dimensions for dispersibility and shape, are obtained by the analysis of transmission electron microscope images. These dimensions enable the clear and quantitative distinction of the morphology of the polymer blend membranes based on their phase separation.
