摘要
With the development of novel wireless technologies, the requests for bigger data transfer capacity, high efficiency and high capacity Radio Frequency (RF) and microwave gadgets have been developing massively. Electromagnetic bandgap structures (EBGSs) are such new materials which have been rising as potential methods for enhancing the execution of existing RF dynamic and passive devices. EBGSs are periodic or aperiodic in nature. The profundity and width of the stopband rely upon few variables like Filling Factor (FF), number of components, periods and substrate properties. Here, an examination of uniform square designed EBGSs, dumbbell shape square designed with one narrow slot and dumbbell shape square designed with two narrow slots have been done. The stopband - passband properties are accounted for by S-parameter exhibitions. It is additionally observed that the dumbbell shape EBGS with two narrow slots gives more beam steering capacity than the dumbbell shape EBGS with one narrow slot. Therefore, a novel EBGS assisted 4x1 phased array antenna is realized.
