摘要：

Windtunnels utilize some of the largest drives in the world. The current NASA - NTF windtunnel project, by replacing its aging fan drive system with a new Adjustable Speed Drive (ASD) using a single 135,000 HP synchronous motor, will employ the largest adjustable speed drive system in the world. High Voltage DC Transmission and traditional ASD technology, and utilization of large rotating:machinery design and manufacturing techniques, makes this system possible.
