摘要：

We describe a case in which a family (7 adults and 4 children) is affected by unintended inhalation of CO from a bucket of hot charcoal. The potential sources of carbon monoxide in daily life, the pathophysiology and symptoms of CO intoxication as well as treatment options are explained and some information on tactics at the emergency site are given; the effects of CO on a pregnant woman and the fetus are highlighted.
