摘要
Research is an active process of knowledge building, with high potential in influencing the development of professionals in all fields. Therefore, developing research competences in prospective teachers should be more openly addressed in Romanian teacher education. The present contribution aims to promote a genuine debate on this theme, by discussing results of a qualitative study conducted with Romanian student teachers (N= 132), who were asked to write short essays on research competences relevant in educational contexts, after completing a course in educational research. The content analysis performed on the qualitative materials revealed student teachers' perceptions on key competences developed through educational research which may be transferred to teaching situations. Results are discussed within the context of professional growth among education professionals.
