Enhanced bandwidth second harmonic generation in a periodically poled tapered KTP waveguide

摘要
In this paper we study second harmonic generation in a tapered channel waveguide and show that using a standard single spatial frequency quasi phase matched grating, it is possible to enhance the bandwidth of the nonlinear process. Numerical results are presented to show pump bandwidth of 10 nm for typical tapered waveguide in KTP. The proposed method could be an interesting alternative to chirped QPM gratings for nonlinear interactions in wayeguides.
