Evaluation on the reliability of criterions for glass-forming ability of Fe(Co)-based bulk metallic glasses

摘要
As the reliability criterions of glass forming ability (GFA) for Fe(Co)-based bulk metallic glasses (BMGs), the temperature interval of the supercooled liquid region Delta T-xg, the reduced glass transition temperature T-rg and the parameter gamma were evaluated by the linear regression with the critical diameter Z(c) of rod samples. According to the statistical correlation parameter R-2, the reliability of these criterions for Fe(Co)-based BMGs can be expressed as Delta T-xg << T-rg < gamma, which is very similar with the referenced Zr-based BMGs. Among these criterions, the parameter gamma is an universal and the most reliable criterion for the Zr-, La-, Mg-, Pd-, Ti- (referenced data) and Fe(Co)-based BMG systems. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V.
