The papers in this special section were presented at the 2020 31st IEEE International Symposium on Space Terahertz Technology (ISSTT 2020) that took place in Tempe, AZ, USA on March 8-11, 2020. It was held on the grounds of Arizona State University (ASU) and organized by the local committee consisting of engineers and scientists from ASU.
