摘要
The protection principle of distribution line adopted nowadays can't provide satisfactory sensitivity and rapidity. This paper proposes replacing the current protection with distance protection or difference current protection in order to response distribution line phase fault. Also suggests to add load monitoring, curcuit breaker condition monitoring, harmonic wave monitoring, etc. to distribution line IED, in ordor to avoid the redundancy arrangement of online monitoing devices, and cater for the incorporate developmemt orientation of the distribution system IED in smart grid.
