ASSESSMENT OF SOCIAL POLICIES AS ONE OF THE KEY AREAS OF LIFE IN THE MUNICIPALITY

Social policy plays a irreplaceable role in everyone's life, whether directly or indirectly. But often, regarding to different interests, the role is not that significant in comparison with other areas of life in the municipality. Preferred are for example in healthcare, sports, transport, etc. The public is often unaware of what may be a particularly useful and has no idea how it is implemented, if a person does not get into a situation where he needed social policies. The paper discusses the status and perception of social policy and an ordinary citizen with a practical example of a specific community. We will build primarily on awareness of social issues and show the importance which political representation to show the important role of social policy in the life of the community or region. The paper comes from two empirical surveys undertaken in the city of Pardubice.
