摘要
This paper presents efficient 2- and 4-port switches for SCI systems that have up to 7.8-fold higher throughput and half the latency at the same costs compared to conventional SCI switches. Furthermore, more efficient SCI-based Banyan-topologies are proposed that are suited for switches in parallel computers, clusters of workstations and local area multiprocessors. The networks have up to four times the performance in terms of throughput and latency compared to a conventional SCI-based multistage network while requiring only one forth of its costs at the same time. The prerequisite for the improvement is that some data locality is present in the traffic patterns between transmitters and receivers. All results were achieved by means of the new 'SCINET' simulator.
