摘要
The development of an active brazed ceramic-cemented carbide compound drill for application in machining industry is discussed. The finite element method (FEM) is utilized to assist the designing process of the compound drill. Ceramic cutting materials have highest thermal and wear resistance. This property makes high cutting velocities and consequently high material removal rates possible, which leads to significantly reduced primary processing times and production costs. In addition, compared to ceramic materials cemented carbide is less expensive in production.
