Determination of the site of Na on TiO2 rutile (110)-(1 x 1) by ion shadowing/blocking measurements

摘要
Na atoms deposited on TiO2(110)-(1 x 1) are found to initially occupy a site which is 'adjacent' to one bridging oxygen atom and not the alternatively proposed site which is 'between' two bridging atoms. The Na atoms appear to derelax the bridging oxygen atoms upwards so that they have approximately the bulk O-Ti separation. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
