摘要
This paper presents original records of solar and wind generation responses to power system faults with focus on fault ride-through and momentary cessation. Momentary cessation of inverter-based generation could cause simultaneous generation withdrawals in wide area under major transmission system contingencies. The paper suggests minimizing momentary cessation application and restart delay though it is considered as an acceptable option for renewable generation fault ride-through in IEEE Std. 1547-2003 revision. The paper also presents an event of islanded feeder sustained by Type I induction wind generators with undesirable reclosing to the island. The event demonstrates the need for better coordinating the competing priorities between fault ride-through and anti-islanding in DER integrating.
