摘要
This contribution summarises the mechanisms of transport and retardation processes, chemistry and migration behaviour of radionuclides of fission products and actinides in natural sorbents, especially bentonites. The effect of solubilities and dissolution reactions, diffusion and sorption/desorption, complexation and variations in the aqueous phase composition, pH-value and oxidation-reduction properties and other phenomena on Kd values is discussed. The experimental method of determining distribution coefficient K-d as one of the important parameters for characterisation of materials through static batch sorption experiments is proposed. Possible deviations due to irrelevant steps in this procedure are predicted and evaluated. Bentonites' buffering properties have been investigated by examining the effects of the aqueous phases pH on sorption of radionuclides Cs-134 and Sr-85. From the results it is evident that bentonites belong to materials with very good buffering properties. All types of bentonites show very good sorption properties.
