UV-VIS spectrometric study of the reaction between carbon monoxide and nitrosobenzene, in presence of palladium ion

摘要
The method is based oil the reaction between carbon monoxide and nitrosobenzene in the presence of divalent palladium. Hexamethylphosphotriamide (HMPA) water mixture was used as the solvent. The reduction of Pd(II) to Pd(0) is followed by the reduction of the nitroso-group front the organic reagent. Two spectral bands assigned to nitrosobenzene (282 and 308 nm) call be used in the indirect determination of CO. The detection limit is 45 ppm (v/v) after at least two hours from bubbling of the gaseous sample.
