Is the Development Degree Influencing the Corporate Governance Regulations and Practices?

Throughout years, different corporate governance models appeared as potential solutions to solving the problems among stakeholders. This paper has as main aim to identify and compare corporate governance codes used in emerging and developed countries in order to observe whether there are significant differences that could be explained by the development degree. In this regard, the paper focuses on the similarities and differences between Bulgarian code for corporate governance, Bucharest Stock Exchange corporate governance code and the UK corporate governance code, considering Bulgaria and Romania are emerging countries, while United Kingdom is a developed one. The relevance and originality of the paper consists on its attempt to examine in contrast corporate governance regulations in emerging and developed countries.
