Selective photocatalytic dye degradation by surface charged TiO2

摘要
Nanocrystalline TiO2 photocatalysts with negative and near neutral surface charge were synthesised by adopting a low - temperature sol - gel method. These catalysts were characterised by powder X - ray diffraction. FT - IR and UV - Vis absorption analyses. Selective photocatalytic efficiency of the synthesised catalysts was tested for the degradation of methylene blue and methyl orange aqueous dye mixture solution. A composite of negatively surface charged TiO2 and Degussa P25 (10 wt %) was synthesised and was tested for the selective photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue and methyl orange aqueous dye mixture solution.
