摘要
Since its introduction, unicompartmental knee arthroplasty has been controversial because of poor early clinical outcomes due to implant design, bony fixation, surgical instrumentation, and technique. Improvements in surgical technique and implant design have resulted in improved outcomes and greater survivorship. The ability to optimize a patient's surgical result requires appropriate patient selection, and the ability to accurately achieve your surgical plan. Implant placement, limb alignment, soft tissue balance, joint line preservation, and joint stability are the critical factors in obtaining a successful outcome.
