Design and optimization of wide and dual band waveguide polarizer

摘要
The design of a wide band and dual band square waveguide iris polarizer covering two separate bands is discussed here. The relation between bandwidth of the polarizer and the dimension of the square waveguide are analyzed and deduced. Based on this analysis, concluded the requirement of the waveguide's dimension for design of a wide band/dual band polarizer. Finally introduce a procedure for designing this kind of polarizer. A compact polarizer with six irises and a shorter electrical length was developed and optimized within the band of 24GHz-36GHz which is over 40% bandwidth. Simulation results exhibited excellent performances: the axial ratio is less than 1.2dB and the VSWR is less than 1.1 over the whole continuous frequency band, axial ratio is less than 0.4dB over the two separate bands which are 25GHz-26GHz and 34GHz-35GHz.
